OSPREY lingering...

Great news - the juvenile OSPREY that I first saw at the beginning of the week is still hanging around, making a daily commute between Weston Turville Reservoir and Wilstone/Tringford Reservoirs. It is roosting in a tall Ash tree by the Susan Cowdy Hide at Weston Turville overnight, then fishing there in the morning before heading later over to Tring. Well worth seeing if you get the opportunity......

Also this week, quite a bit of wader passage, with 3 BLACK-TAILED GODWITS on Thursday (Ian Bennell et al), 4 Greenshank for most of the week, 1-2 RUFF, the 3 juvenile Little Ringed Plovers and the juvenile Ringed Plover and the odd lingering Common Sandpiper.

We also have a juvenile PEREGRINE now in residence and causing havoc (killed a Moorhen on Wednesday), 2 Hobbies, 2 Kingfisher, up to 16 Little Egret, a drake GREATER SCAUP, 5 PINTAIL, the 3 GARGANEY and an awful lot of dabbling duck.

Francis Buckle had a juvenile MARSH HARRIER fly through on Thursday.....

Here is a selection of my recent photographs......
