Wilstone water levels continue to drop and we finally see some waders appearing.....

The Water level on Wilstone has started to drop quite quickly during the last week consequently attracting a few waders. A couple of Greenshank have gone straight through, as well as a single Curlew, whilst Green Sandpipers have peaked at 9, Common Sandpiper at 3 and the first ICELANDIC BLACK-TAILED GODWIT remained 3 days. Ian Williams had a SANDWICH TERN fly through early Saturday morning whilst Dave Bilcock and I noted a nice fresh juvenile MEDITERRANEAN GULL in with the Black-headed Gull flock. A couple of sub-adult YELLOW-LEGGED GULLS are also in the area with the increasing Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
